Sebagai bangunan komersial, sebuah restoran pun harus melalui perhitungan yang benar secara bisnis. Setiap restoran sebaiknya didesain dengan efisien dan efektif sesuai dengan budget yang tersedia. Hal ini terkadang menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi desainer. Bagaimana membuat sebuah desain yang cathcy, menonjol serta unik dan efektif secara pembagian ruang dan efisien dalam budget. Apalagi desain restoran harus diubah dan direnovasi agar up to date mengikuti perkembangan desain kurang lebih lima tahun sekali. Untuk para desainer merupakan sebuah tantangan lain yang berbeda dengan para pengunjung dan masyarakat yang justru semakin dimanjakan dengan hadirnya restoran dengan suasana dan ambiance baru.

Ke-18 desain restoran yang kami tampilkan dalam buku ini merupakan hasil desain para desainer selama kurang lebih lima tahun belakangan ini yang didesain erat dengan gaya hidup saat ini.
